The ISSAQ Student Success System

ISSAQ (pronounced like the name, "Isaac") is a multi-faceted approach to supporting students and improving student success. For years, colleges and universities have struggled to find "magic bullets," or single solution remedies to retention, persistence, and graduation. ISSAQ integrates multiple best practices to help your institution better understand students' strengths and challenges, build systems of support, and connect students with the resources they need.

ISSAQ's three areas of solutions:

Using a dedicated assessment of student noncognitive skills, ISSAQ provides data on the behavioral, motivational, emotional, and social aspects of student success. These data provide a holistic view of the student, identifying strengths and challenges and giving feedback to students, those working with them, and the institution as a whole.

Having data is not enough. Key personnel - such as advisors, faculty, and administrators -  need to understand how a holistic understanding of students impacts their work. Thus, Training includes several best practices designed to help your institution meet your students where they are. These resources include (but are not limited to):

  • Process mapping;

  • Developing holistic coaching skills;

  • Co-curricular alignment;

  • Holistic assessment, course placement, and support.

Information services provides an in-depth understanding of your data and the results of your student success interventions, such as (but not limited to):

  • Localized predictive analytics reports;

  • Studying key subgroups, such as first-generation college students;

  • Evaluating holistic course placement models;
